Here on Porthleven harbour we make all our own designs. We’re a tiny company with a reputation for original jewellery which we make by hand as one-offs, or in limited editions, ensuring that whatever you choose will be fairly special to you.

Our Bridal and Special Occasion jewellery is available online, together with a changing collection of unusual or classic earrings. Everything else is exclusive to the studio.

"It’s so beautiful, I don’t ever want to take it off"

"Nothing compares with this; I’ve sent my other tiara back."

"Why didn’t I see you first?"

“Everyone always asks me where I got them. I tell them it’s a Cornish secret. Then I tell them Tombodama”

“I looked everywhere for a red tiara. It’s stunning.”

We mix sumptuous sparkling Swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls, aquamarine, amethyst, rose quartz, tiger-eye, hematite, turquoise and labradorite, together with genuine Murano glass from Venice and other gorgeous handmade beads from around the world.

Necklaces can be made in two or three different lengths, and earrings can be hung on studs or hooks (or screws for the non-pierced). And if you can’t find what you‘re looking for, or want to work with a special wedding theme, we love working to commission.

tombodama's designer

Julia Schofield is a self-taught designer/maker who created Tombodama back in 1999, in Coverack (on the Lizard Peninsula) influenced by light on the dramatic Cornish sea outside her window.

Within three months of her first commission, her work was commended in The Goldsmiths Hall Annual Design Awards. Several moves followed as the business grew.

guest jewellers

We’ve invited two young Guest Jewellers also living in Cornwall to show in the Porthleven Studio. Justin Duance (Rings and Cuff-Links in precious metals inlaid with wood.) His work is very popular for Civil Partnerships and Commitment Rings) and Joseph Lamsin (Jewellery for Men and Women) who uses the ancient technique of casting molten silver into carved cuttlefish collected from local Cornish beaches to make very fine jewellery.
